Load ratings, beam configuration, aisle width and the floor survey most buyers skip.
Ask for: load per beam level, seismic rating, decking type.
FacilitiesIndependent sourcing resource
Product Solutions Center helps business buyers turn a vague need into a written requirement, compare suppliers on the things that actually differ, and understand what an option costs across its whole life — before the purchase order goes out.

Answer the three questions and this card will name the guide written for where you actually are, plus the part of the directory worth browsing.
Nothing selected yet. Every guide is free to read, and nothing on this page is submitted anywhere.
Category directory
Each category lists the specification points that most often separate a good purchase from an expensive one. Filter by area or search for what you need.

The method
Most bad purchases are traceable to a step that got skipped. This is the order we recommend, and each step has a guide behind it.
Write down what the product must do, in what environment, at what volume. Suppliers cannot quote comparably against a description that lives in your head.
Three to five suppliers, scored on the same weighted criteria. Price is one column, not the whole table.
Add installation, consumables, service, downtime and disposal, then compare options over the same number of years.
Run a small, time-boxed trial with a stated pass mark and an agreed way out. Then buy the whole fleet.
Sourcing guides
Four practical guides covering the whole sequence. Each one is written to be finished in a sitting and used the same day.
Six sections that turn "we need new scanners" into a document suppliers can quote against — and a quote you can actually compare.
Read the guideA weighted comparison you can build in a spreadsheet in an hour, plus the reference questions that reveal what a sales call never will.
Read the guidePurchase price is often under half the lifetime cost. Here is the full list of what to add, and how to compare options over the same horizon.
Read the guideHow to scope a pilot that answers a real question, what to measure, and the exit terms to agree before the first unit arrives.
Read the guideRequest for quotation
Suppliers quote what you ask for. Vague requests produce quotes you cannot line up against each other, which is how buyers end up comparing on the only number that is comparable — price.
Straight answers
What this site is, what it is not, and what happens to anything you send us.
No. We sell no products, hold no stock, run no fulfilment, take no referral fees and publish no affiliate links. Manufacturers and distributors cannot pay for inclusion, placement, favourable wording or a link.
No, and be careful of anyone who will without knowing your environment, volume and constraints. What the directory gives you is the specification points that separate a good purchase from an expensive one in each category — the questions worth putting to a supplier.
No. It is arithmetic that runs entirely in your browser on the figures you type in, and it says so on the page. It ignores the time value of money and is not a quotation, a valuation or financial advice. Its value is comparative: run it twice, on two options, over the same horizon.
They are the questions that most often decide whether a purchase in that category holds up — load ratings, duty cycles, consumable costs, lock-in terms, end-of-support dates. We do not publish invented research or attach precise-sounding percentages to claims we cannot source.
It is stored so we can reply. It is not sold, shared or forwarded to suppliers as a lead, and you will not be contacted by a salesperson because of it. The privacy policy has the detail.
No. Every category entry and all four guides are published in full on this site. There is nothing to register for and nothing behind a form.
Possibly — several of the current entries began as a reader's question. Send us the requirement and where the decision has stalled, and we will look at it.
Ask us
Send us the requirement and what you are stuck on. We answer sourcing questions in general terms and use the good ones to decide what to write next. We do not sell products and we do not pass your details to suppliers.
We are not a reseller, a distributor, a purchasing agent or a consultancy, and nothing here is legal, engineering or safety advice for your situation.
